During some people’s lifetimes, they become so well known that they are identified by one name. Elvis certainly is in that category. He began life in an obscure corner of Mississippi and came from a background that did not inspire incredible accomplishments. He changed history when he connected with Sun Records in Nashville, and they began promoting his music. He put together a string of hits, served his country in the US Army and made movies. He dominated the pop music scene for many years and when he began to fade, his 1968 concert made everyone remember why he was such a force to be reckoned with. His incredible voice and his ability to create emotion in his music created a star that spanned generations. His tragic early death solidified his place among the music giants. His home in Graceland is still constantly besieged with visitors and fans from all over the world. Come and relive his story.
