It was a very tumultuous time in the United States. The 1960s is frequently described as a pivotal watershed in modern history, characterized by a sharp transition from the conservative post-war conformity of the 1950s to a decade of radical social, cultural and political upheaval. During that decade, we saw some of the greatest sports highlights ever. We saw civil rights marches. We saw one of the most divisive wars that our country was ever involved in. We saw political assassinations that brought the nation and the world to the point of wondering, how could this happen here in America? We saw the two most powerful nations in the world at the brink of nuclear war. We saw incredible movies that defined eras of time that made such a difference. We saw NASA from the beginning attempts to reach the ultimate destination of standing on the moon. We saw the largest musical gathering ever staged. We saw Olympic highlights that still inspire everyone to do the best we can. Come and relive that decade and see where we have been and where we have yet to go.
