Walt Disney was born and grew up in the Chicago area. He started drawing by the age of six. That unleashed a lifetime of artistic expression. He was too young to enlist in W. W. I, so he joined the Red Cross and drove ambulances in France. He came home and got a job with a newspaper and was fired because “he lacked imagination and had no good ideas.” He went into business for himself and bet his future on one mouse. The movies began in the late 1920s. Disneyland came along in 1955. His name resonates with good & wholesome entertainment. He made a difference in our world. Come and hear his stories.
