Mary Shelley and Frankenstein

posted in: Britain, Literature | 0

She was born to literary royalty.  She married literary royalty.  She lived a life of ‘great expectations.’  As a teen-ager, as a result of a late night dare, she wrote a book that helped launch 2 different genres in literature, science fiction and horror.  That book, “Frankenstein” changed how the world looked at those subjects.  That book has inspired numerous attempts out of Hollywood to create the story and many of the attempts have not been overly successful.  After the very early death of her husband and the loss of several children, she returned to England to rebuild her husband’s legacy and live out her life.  Her story is fascinating.  Come and hear about her life and those events that changed the course of her life and impacted our world.
