In the Spring of 1914, Antarctic explorer, Ernest Shackleton put an ad in the London Times which said: “Men wanted for hazardous journey, small wages, bitter cold, long months of complete darkness, constant danger, safe return doubtful, honor and recognition in case of success.” That ad brought all kinds of response and men came because they knew that this adventure to the South Pole might be the last great adventure of their lives. They also knew that they were going to be with Ernest Shackleton. Shackleton had earned a reputation as someone who was very capable in times of crisis. His story of bringing his men back safely is that of legend. Come and hear who he was and what he did.
